Grateful. That’s the word that’s been sitting in my heart lately — maybe even more than usual.

It’s hard to believe we celebrated six years at The Ridge Kids just nine days ago. Six years of growing, learning, adapting, and somehow finding our way through challenges that would make anyone’s head spin.

Being a small business owner in today’s economic climate is not for the faint of heart. There are days filled with doubts and long to-do lists, and then there are days that fill me with awe — like seeing familiar faces walk through our doors, or watching online orders pop up from across the country. Each one still gives me that same little rush of excitement as it did in year one.

These past few weeks have been especially uplifting. Our online shop has been buzzing with orders — local pickups, cross-country shipments — and it’s such a powerful reminder that people still believe in small business. That support, that word-of-mouth love, it truly keeps us going.

And honestly? It takes a village.

From Alex, who helps bring in the amazing inventory and gets it all ready for the site, to our team who makes everything look beautiful on our shopping channels — their work makes all the difference. We’re already knee-deep in preparing for the holiday season, and the excitement is contagious. The new prints, the pops of red, the festive dresses, the gift displays — every detail reminds me why I started this.

As I watch our team ready the floor for the holidays, I can’t help but feel so grateful — for our staff, for our customers, and for the families who choose to shop small, local, and from the heart.

Running a small business takes resilience, creativity, and a whole lot of coffee — but more than anything, it takes community. And to see this little shop of ours not just survive, but thrive, means everything.
