First published in 1960, This is New York is a tour of the city through Sasek’s charming and stylish illustrations. Featuring Sasek’s impressions of the city’s buildings, traffic jams, and stories, and including such landmarks as the Staten Island Ferry, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Chinatown, and Central Park, the result is a colorful, sophisticated celebration of the highlights of one of the most exciting cities in the world. The illustrations are paired with a lively text to keep a playful sense of fun.
